Street Kidz

Children’s Ministry

Oak Street welcomes Mrs. Terri Beaman is our Children’s Minister. She is well known to the membership as a faithful sister in Christ, gifted musician, leader of Children’s Choir and for her involvement with a variety of children’s activities as a lay member of the church. She served earlier as part-time Children’s Minister from June of 2002 until July of 2003. She also has three and a half years of experience teaching special education classes in public schools; more than four years experience in management of licensed child care facilities; and more than 15 years total volunteer experience leading children’s ministries and music programs. She has an earned Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (University of Texas - Permian Basin) and holds teacher certification in Generic Special Education. Her “goal” as a minister is “to serve the Lord by reaching children and their families for Him … I want children to develop a passion for Jesus and to know that ‘the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love’…”

Oak Street recognizes the children of today need Jesus. Bombarded on every hand by a culture of selfishness and permissiveness, our children need to realize God is the KING and Jesus is LORD. Oak Street has multiple ministries geared toward instructing children from the cradle through elementary school in walking with Jesus.

Children In Action

Children In Action Vision:

Children In Action (CIA Agents) is a Wednesday evening activity involving children in grades 1-5, teaching boys and girls about missions opportunities around the world. Through imaginative teaching/learning activities, children are introduced to hands-on mission involvement.

Street Kidz Vision:We believe God considers ministry to kids to be one of our most important callings, so we have made the Street Kidz top priority. We want kids to be excited about coming to church! We are committed to providing an atmosphere that is fun and energetic while they learn about Jesus in creative and innovative ways. Our greatest prayer is to see children come to know Jesus as their Savior. We also want to help facilitate growth in their relationship with Him through meaningful worship, illustrated Bible lessons and scripture memory. Furthermore, we want to equip them to serve others wholeheartedly.
