Children’s Ministry

Mrs. Terri Beaman is our Children’s Minister. She is well known to the membership as a faithful sister in Christ, gifted musician, leader of Children’s Choir and for her involvement with a variety of children’s activities as a lay member of the church. She served earlier as part-time Children’s Minister from June of 2002 until July of 2003. She also has three and a half years of experience teaching special education classes in public schools; more than four years experience in management of licensed child care facilities; and more than 15 years total volunteer experience leading children’s ministries and music programs. She has an earned Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (University of Texas – Permian Basin) and holds teacher certification in Generic Special Education. Her “goal” as a minister is “to serve the Lord by reaching children and their families for Him … I want children to develop a passion for Jesus and to know that ‘the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love’…”

Oak Street recognizes the children of today need Jesus. Bombarded on every hand by a culture of selfishness and permissiveness, our children need to realize God is the KING and Jesus is LORD. Oak Street has multiple ministries geared toward instructing children from the cradle through elementary school in walking with Jesus.
